Tape-ins are lightweight and quick to apply, keratin bonds are applied strand by strand for a very natural fall, wefts add fullness and length in rows, and hot fusion and I-tip methods attach small strands for a seamless, discreet result. Your stylist recommends the method that suits your hair density, lifestyle and the look you want.

How Long They Last and How to Care for Them

How long your new hair lasts depends on the method, how fast your hair grows and how you care for them at home, and your stylist will tell you when to come back for maintenance. Brush gently from the ends up with a soft brush, use sulfate-free products, keep oils and conditioner away from tapes and bonds, use heat protection, and tie your hair in a loose braid for sleeping and swimming.

Once your consultation is done and your hair has arrived, installation day is mostly about careful placement and blending. Here is how it usually goes.

Installation Step by Step

Come with clean, dry hair. Skip oils, serums and heavy conditioner on the day, so tapes and bonds can grip properly.
Sectioning. Your stylist maps out where the new hair will sit, keeping it away from the hairline and the part so it stays hidden.
Application. Depending on the method you chose (weft, tape-in, keratin bond, hot fusion or I-tip), the hair is attached row by row or strand by strand.
Cut and blend. The ends are cut into your own haircut, so the length looks like it grew there.
Style and show. We finish with a styled look and show you how to brush, part and tie your hair without exposing attachments.

The First Weeks at Home

Your own hair needs a little time to settle around the new attachments. Wash your hair upright in the shower rather than leaning forward over a sink, and always dry the roots completely, because damp attachments are where tangles start. Never go to bed with wet hair.

Hold the hair at the attachment point while brushing the lengths, and part it the way your stylist showed you so nothing peeks through. Choose a loose braid or low bun on hot, humid days rather than a tight high ponytail, which pulls on the roots.
